Empowering Carers
On May 10, Shezan Manji, the Office Manager in Dar es Salaam, organised a one-day seminar for 60 caregivers—57 women and 3 men. Attendees were hesitant at first, but once the sessions got going, all became fully engaged and participated enthusiastically. Shezan reports:
“The caregiver training seminar provided valuable knowledge and practical guidance on positive parenting and child development. Participants were encouraged to become more supportive, responsible, and actively involved in children’s education, emotional wellbeing, and overall growth.
The seminar reinforced the importance of cooperation between caregivers, teachers, sponsors, and the community in ensuring children grow into confident, responsible, and successful adults.
Overall, the training was highly beneficial and contributed to strengthening the capacity of caregivers to provide better care and support to children under the RSP programme”.
