We support as many vulnerable or orphaned children as possible through our flexible care programmes.

These aim to find the best individual solution for each child; whether adopted with wider family members or housed in our unique Children’s Village. We ensure they are properly looked after, go to school and have the opportunity to develop and thrive as individuals.

Local Solution

Malaika Kids Tanzania is a government registered NGO, ‘Malaika Orphanage Foundation’, which is run by a Tanzanian management team.

Transparent and Accountable

We are transparent in our operations and fundraising activities and are accountable to regulatory agencies, our donors and ultimately to the community we help.

Efficient

By making effective use of dedicated volunteers in our fundraising efforts, we direct over 97% of donations to the Tanzanian operations.

Family is Best

Our priority with any child placed in our care in the Reception Home in Dar es Salaam is to find a responsible relative. If this is not possible, then our Relatives Support Programme enables the child to live with a relative while we provide basic support and monitoring. If we are unable to trace a suitable relative, then the child is placed in the Children’s Village at Mkuranga thus giving them the best care and education and a brighter future.
